2016 Follow the Dream

BEAUTY PAGEANT WINNER

Gābrielle Howard

Everyone knows that pageantry is an outward display of beauty. However, observers should witness a demonstration of inner beauty while in the presence of a contestant as well, which includes having an appreciation of every part of who you are: mind, body, and spirit. I am a positive thinker, I consciously try and eat healthy and exercise, and I have a strong relationship with God. I see myself as God does; a young lady who is confident, considerate, respectful, unselfish, and successful. I have learned at an early age that success is not so much about money or fame, but it is about doing the best you can with whatever task has been given to you, establishing a respectful character, being kind to people, and about setting goals and achieving them.

I am a senior at Central York High school and plan to pursue a degree from Drexel University in Fashion Merchandising & Design. My interests includes all genres of art, I am a dancer, a novice harpist, and an up-and-coming model and makeup artist. My love for pageantry began in 2011 and I have won 6 pageant titles since that time. My primary pageant platform is as a “Fresh” Mentor, which is a youth program at my church that empowers teenage girls with confidence and goal setting; I also serve on the dance and media ministry there. As with Fresh, as a pageant coach, I teach young women the skills that are needed to increase their confidence level. Please visit me on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube @slaybrielle
