About Follow The Dream

BEAUTY PAGEANT SCHOLARSHIP

“Follow the Dream Beauty Pageant Scholarship, Inc.” is an annual event that provides young women with an opportunity to win a scholarship in order to continue their education. It is as much a journey as it is a destination. We aim for all to be a winner, although only one “Follow the Dream” beauty contestant can be the final top prize winner.

Under the direction of Amalia Gohn, young women are taught self-confidence to help prepare them for a successful entry into the workforce. By learning proper etiquette, poise, style of dress, hair and make-up preparation, contestants gain valuable personal and professional skills that are generally not otherwise available to them. Most critically, they learn to access power to energize their thoughts and actions towards achieving their goals and dreams.

We emphasize that beauty is not just an outer look but a positive, inner attitude as well. Contestants are young women between the ages of 17 to 21 (17year olds must be 18 by date of competition) who are graduating from high school or who plan to further their education. Instructional seminars are offered to all contestants in preparation for the competition and the young ladies will then display their skills in a beauty pageant conducted in front of a live audience and judges. The winner of the competition will receive a monetary scholarship payable to any institution or school of their choice. The scholarship must be utilized within two years.

The success of this annual scholarship program is largely due to the financial support of the community. With the generosity of individuals and businesses in the area, the dream will become an enduring reality for young women seeking to better themselves through education. Throughout the annual program, we do not only influence and change the lives of the contestants but because of their growing self-confidence, and the combination of inner and outer beauty, they influence everyone who reads about, follows, and who attend the final pageant. The girls of Follow the Dream personify the adage, “success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”
